The trolley brake is normally on when the handgrip is released, with a spring (16) inside a slider (8) pusing the linkage into the braking position. The housing (11) for the handgrip lever (7) and the brake slider (8) is moulded and has one recess (13) to locate a fastening tag (23) each side of the trolley. The handgrip is pivoted out of the housing in such a way that there is no danger of trapping fingers, with the pivot action centered about the opening in the housing. The user simply leans on the handgrip to release the brake.
