In the case of a gas spark ignition engine the gas-air mixture preparation and combustion is to be performed in such a way that the nitrogen oxide emissions are minimised. To this end the gas-air mixture is intensively homogenised outside the respective cylinder (8) and introduced with pronounced swirling into the combustion chamber (34).
