Industrial transport, and transport for people seeking recuperation from stresses of crowded city life, together with attractive landscape, forests, hills, peace and clean air, are provided by a track for long-distance traffic, with no harm caused to the environment by noise or exhaust fumes. The track (1,2) is laid below the surface of the ground, in a tunnel tube (6) which can be provided with closure devices. The tunnel can be laid in a protected landscape area, and is pref. straight. Such a tube can also be located above ground, and covered.
