A method of processing raw jute to directly obtain bleached jute fibres for spinning and weaving, comprising treating ra-jute with an aqueous emulsion, stabilized with known stabilizer(s) of a lubricating oil such as batching oil and as bleaching agent hydrogen peroxide, piling so treated raw jute in conventional setting for 48 to 72 hours and cutting away root portion if un-cut raw jute is used.
