A plant nutrient suspension (I) for the prepn. of nutrient enriched soil improving agents, peat fertilisers and garden soil comprises (a) a nitrogen supplying component, (b) a potassium supplying component, and (c) a phosphorus supplying component as well as component (d) a highly active surfactant. (I) can be mixed with even the driest peats to give homogeneous distribution of the nutrients. The enriched soils and peats can be prepd. simply and economically with low energy expenditure. (I) does not have a very high osmotic effect and is therefore tolerated better by plants than are most mineral fertilisers. (I) can be stored and used easily and cheaply. Component (a) is pref. urea or urea-ammonium nitrate soln., component (b) is pref. caustic potash soln. and component (c) is pref. wet phosphoric acid. (I) may also contain trace nutrients in addn. to components (a) to (d).
