PURPOSE:To reduce the oxygen purity on both sides of the jet stream of scarfing oxygen on purpose to prevent sticking of the fin on both sides of scarfed zone, by simultaneously injecting air or incombustible gas from both sides of the injection port fot the scarfing oxygen at the scarfing tip. CONSTITUTION:The scarfing oxygen is injected from the injection port 7 being supplied from the chamber 4 through the path 6. Air or the incombustible gas is supplied from the chamber 5 through the path 10, and is injected from the injection port 11 communicated to the oxygen injection port 7; hereby, air or incombustible gas is mixed with the oxygen jet stream nearby the tip of the injection port 7, and the oxygen purity over the injection breadth of the scarfing oxygen is reduced. This air or incombustible gas for preventing the fin is injected at the injection pressure 1.0-4.8 times of the oxygen injection pressure, and the injection angle is 0-5 degrees inclined inward. According to this method, the fin to be generated by the scarfing work does not stick to both sides of the scarfed plane, so that the removing work for the fin at the later process becomes unnecessary.
