Heat-insulated Al alloy sections for window and door frames, preventing condensn. and loss of heat, comprise inner and outer profiles which are joined together by two neoprene rubber profiles and a chloroprene vacuum tube of which the former are pref. disposed at the points of contact between the two profiles, while the latter causes a compact joint to form. On removing the vacuum, the tube expands, creating a pressure of 35-200 kg per linear m and producing a compact joint capable of withstanding mechanical working of the profiles. The pressure can be varied by the dimension of the tube, according to the size of the profiles, so that outer profiles can take pressures of up to 400 kg per linear m without deformation of the tube and hence the joint.
