A suspension system for a cross country vehicle with independent wheels driven by respective motors coaxial with the wheels has successive wheels, one behind the other in pairs, carried by a vertical triangular frame, the centres of rotation (4, 5) of the wheels being located at the two lower corners, and the frame pivoting about an axis (3) at the upper corner so that the frame can tilt within its own plane. This frame supports the wheels between its side, like the forks of a cycle, and can also tilt about an axis parallel to the axis of the vehicle. These frames are attached to longitudinals which can swing up as the triangles tilt in their planes.
