The invention concerns the lay-out and printing of cheques and other similar documents used in banking and financial transactions. The lay-out and the type of paper is controlled by German banking regulations. In order to provide individually styled cheques which at the same time conform to the regulations it is proposed that a number of copies of the forms are bound together but can be easily detached by tearing along a line of perforations. The cheque lay-out has the required number of blank spaces for entering the necessary information and is printed on a specially designed background and is provided with a coding strip for machine identification.
