Thermoelectric energy converter material and device as in the parent patent comprising an alloy compsn. contg. three intermediate cpds. Mg2Sn, Mg2Ge and Mg2Si according to the formula: Mg2SixGeySn1-x-y, and a dopant for producing charge carriers, whereby the dopant is more completely sepcified. Thus the dopant is an n or p type dopant A or B such that the formula becomes A2rMg2-2rSixGeySn1-x-y or Mg2(SixGeySn1-x-y)1-sBs and such that the number of charge carries introduced is 1015 - 5 x 1020/cc.
