The structure is particularly for the mooring of pleasure craft, and consists of a series of floating pontoons partly enclosing the surface of the sea. The closed side is attached to a fixed mooring. The latter can be secured to the seabed, the structure being attached to it in a triangular pattern. The structure itself can be U-shaped, and the mouth of the U can be closed by pontoons separated by a submerged boom typically a water-ballasted pontoon. The pontoons can be rectangular, and when assembled end to end can form a lengthwise depression accommodating the above-water portion of the structure, e.g. huts etc.
