A mixing silo has a feeder enabling material to be fed simultaneously from several different levels to a common bottom collector. A draw-off opening runs helically around the outer periphery of the vessel; the connecting feeder is of smaller section than the vessel; the connecting feeder is ables a large number of feeders to be dispensed with, and very small quantities can be blended. The process can be batch or continuous and blending is satisfactory when the silo is partly filled. It can be used for e.g. grain blending.
