Class 29 In a cold holdover comprising a tank 1 or a bank of tanks containing a eutectic solution and provided with a cooling coil, the eutectic solution is positively circulated by a pump 7 to avoid the deposition of salt crystals in the bottom of the tank. The cooling coil is connected to refrigerating apparatus for periodic cooling of the solution and each tank or the bank of tanks connected. in series has an inlet 3 and outlet 4 connected to the delivery and suction sides of the pump 7 driven by a motor 8. A thermostat 9.located in the suction line of the pump controls the motor 8 so as to maintain the circulation as long as the temperature of the solution is well above its freezing point. Each tank is vented to the air through a plug at the top. Specification 640,849, [Group XXXV], is referred to.
