Class 110(ii) The pump parts, or their facings, are made of a hard metal comprising a hard carbide or carbides and a low-melting bonding metal such as tungsten carbide with cobalt. Instead of cobalt, chrome nickel may be used with titanium or miobium or tantalum carbide. The metal may be sintered or subjected to hot-pressing. The Specification describes a gear pump built up of three plates containing gears used in a spinning process for textiles. The invention may be applied to other types of pumps.
