The present invention is a method of electrodepositing a zinc-nickel alloy layer on a substrate, in which an electric current is applied to each soluble zinc anode and each soluble nickel anode from an external current source to the surface of the substrate. The present invention relates to a method comprising forming an electrical connection by electrically connecting at least one soluble zinc anode which is used and at least one soluble nickel anode remaining in an electrolytic reaction vessel by an electric connection element.
