The invention relates to an assembly (10) for a high-voltage circuit breaker, comprising one of two high-voltage circuit breaker continuous current contact pieces (14) which can be moved relative to each other along a switch longitudinal axis, said continuous current contact piece being stationary with respect to the assembly (10), one of two high-voltage circuit breaker arc contact pieces (12) which can be moved relative to each other along a switch longitudinal axis, said arc contact piece being at least partly coaxially surrounded by the continuous current contact piece (14), a field electrode (34) which surrounds the arc contact piece (12) of the assembly (10) when the high-voltage circuit breaker is deactivated, moves into the deactivation position during the deactivation process, and is drawn back behind the position assumed by the field electrode in the deactivated state when the circuit breaker is activated, and a gearing mechanism via which the field electrode (34) can be driven, wherein the gearing mechanism has a component (76) which is electrically connected to the field electrode (34) and is movably guided in the direction of the switch longitudinal axis. According to the invention, the assembly (10) has at least one sliding contact device (78) which electrically connects the component (76) to a gearing mechanism part (38) fixed to the assembly, said part being rigidly connected to the continuous current contact piece (14) of the assembly (10). The invention additionally relates to a high-voltage circuit breaker comprising such an assembly (10).
