A joint noise reduction method based on variational mode decomposition and a permutation entropy, relating to the technical field of signal processing. The joint noise reduction method comprises the following steps: first, reading a noisy signal x(t); calculating the value of a scale index a of x(t), and determining the number K of decompositions of variational mode decomposition (VMD) according to the value of a; second, performing K-layer VMD decomposition on the noisy signal x(t) to obtain a series of variational modal components u k; and then calculating a permutation entropy value of the variational modal components u k to further determine the value of K; and finally, removing a noise component u k and reconstructing the remaining components u k to obtain a signal subjected to noise reduction filtering. The method has advantages of adaptively determining the number of decompositions, effectively removing the noise component, and having strong robustness and real-time performance, can perform effective noise reduction filtering processing on a signal, and has good technical value and application prospect for a non-stationary signal noise reduction method.
