The invention relates to an electric motor-driven drive unit (1) for a vehicle which can be driven by muscle power, comprising a stator (2), a rotor (3), a drive disc (4) which can be driven via the rotor (3) and which has an attachment (5) to a continuous detection means (6), and a freewheel device (7) for producing a freewheel such that the drive disc (4) can be rotated at a lower speed than the rotor (3) in the same rotational direction. The freewheel device (7) comprises a first coupling disc (8) and a second coupling disc (9), wherein the two coupling discs (8; 9) are axially adjacent, and each of the two coupling discs (8; 9) has first formfitting means (10) on the axial end face opposite the other coupling disc (9; 8) in order to form the freewheel. The two coupling discs (8; 9) can be arranged so as to be axially movable relative to each other on a common axis (11) with the stator (2). Furthermore, the first coupling disc (8) is coupled to the rotor (3) via second formfitting means (12), and the second coupling disc (9) is coupled to the drive disc (4) via third formfitting means (13). An actuator (14) is provided, via which the first coupling disc (8) and the second coupling disc (9) can be moved axially relative to each other such that a transmission of force via the first formfitting means (10) of the coupling discs (8; 9) is canceled in both rotational directions.
