The present invention relates to a learner motivation system in online learning, and when it is determined that at least one of the learners registered in a content providing server that provides educational contents has accessed the educational contents, a learning start signal is transmitted. A detection module communicates with the learning detection module, and when the learning start signal is received, the learning of at least one other learner except for the learning detection module that transmitted the learning start signal among the learning detection modules possessed by the learners. A management server that transmits an operation signal to a detection module, and each of the learners, when receiving the operation signal from the learning detection module, it is assumed that at least one of the learners has started learning using the educational content. and a notification unit that determines and generates notification information. The learner motivation system in online learning according to the present invention has an advantage in that it can motivate learners by providing notification information when a fellow learner starts learning through the notification unit.
