A procedure will be established to review a picking operation, in particular to verify the removal of components from a shelving installation (1),indicated. The procedure shall provide a shelving device (1) with a majority of separate compartments (2) to accommodate components, each compartment (2) having at least one recording device (3) to detect a means of identification without contact. In addition, a component (5) is removed from a subsection (2) of the shelving device (1) by an intervention (4) in the subsection (2),where the intervention (4) and/or removal (5) is recorded by the recording medium (3).
