A microchip laser and a hand piece having this microchip laser are provided.The microchip laser has a laser medium having an input surface and an output surface.The input surface is coated with a highly transparent dielectric coating at the wavelength of the microchip laser and at a pump wavelength.The output surface is coated with a partially reflective dielectric coating at the microchip laser wavelength.A saturable absorber is attached to the output surface of the microchip laser by an intermolecular force.The handpiece for skin treatment has this microchip laser.
