A complex water resource system optimal configuration method based on a "partitioning-rating" theory. The method comprises the following steps: firstly, acquiring basic information data of a water resource system, and secondly generalizing a complex water resource system; then partitioning the whole water resource system according to a water supply relationship between a reservoir, a pump station, a riverway, a water conveying pipeline and a water plant, and establishing hydraulic relationship digital matrices of different partitions; and finally, constructing and solving a multi-stage water resource system optimal configuration model according to the type of water supply source, and determining a rational optimal configuration scheme set. By means of the method, a complex water resource system can be simplified, and a new approach is provided for the efficient utilization of water resources.
