摘要

Anxiety, as an essential personality factor, plays an important affective role in second language acquisition. This paper attempts to find out whether anxiety-and the reading comprehension proficiency are in relation to a number of independent variables such as gender atrd family background etc, and thus try to locate the sources of the foreign language anxiety. This paper concludes with a discussion of some suggestions for English language teachers and learners in China to improve the second language learning process.
