Introduction Breakdown of ruminal epithelial barrier function is frequently observed in high-grain (HG) diet fed ruminants.However,remarkably little information is currently available about the underlying molecular changes in ruminal epithelial barrier functionduring HG diet feeding,especially the changes in tight junction (TJ) proteinsat the mRNA and protein expression levels.Thus,the aim of this study was to characterize the changes in ruminal epithelial TJproteins expression after a long-term HG feeding challenge.
