Objective Using the image analysis methods to research the expression of ??-fetoprotein(AFP) in HepG-2 cell clones. Methods The HepG-2 cells were diluted to make cell clones. And then the expression of AFP in HepG-2 cell clones was detected by immunocytochemistry and analyzed by image analysis system, with HeLa cells as the negative control. Results The expression of AFP was positive in the whole cell clones of HepG-2 by immunocytochemistry staining, while it was negative in HeLa cells. But it was varied in different clones of HepG-2 cells by image analysis. Conclusions The expression of AFP in different clones of HepG-2 cells was varied quantitatively.
