In this paper, the stability of coating at high drawing speed was investigated. In drawing process with high drawing speed, it is very often to occur coating problems like insufficient coating thickness, concentricity error, bubble entrainment and coating delamination. Experiment research found that the forced cooling is an effect way for fiber cooling at high drawing speed, and the helium consumption in cooling pipe can be largely reduced by process optimization. The coating concentricity of optical fiber has important relationship with the coating die diameter. And the problem of bubble entrainment can be solved by optimization on die design of coating applicator. As for coating delamination, in most case it is caused by the unbalanced tension on the fiber.
