摘要

As an entrance of new players into world market, globalization triggers many and ever new challenges for all the countries, deeply influencing all their aspects of the social and economic activities. Thus, the nowadays firm could face many problems and constraints, in order to become more and more competitive. Amidst Central and Eastern European Countries, Romania is part of this competitive environment striving both for integrating EU/EMU countries and for diminishing the difficult consequences of the present financial turmoil that potentiated the shortcomings of a too long transitional process. This paper shows a combined effort between academics and business environment with a view to increasing the competitiveness and productivity of a well-known local firm on the basis of a proved reputation technology, as it was acknowledged not only in the origin country, but in many other contexts as well. Therefore, the KANBAN system proved to be the appropriate solution for the firms' survival and the development in the present turbulent economic environment. In the perfect logics of the Japanese management techniques, the present authors' proposal is a software system (that is, its professional version) which realizes the application of the algorithm that synchronizes the final assembly line of an industrial firm, in order to allow the small-batch production. There are presented the principles of the Toyota system, the way of functioning of the KANBAN technique as a useful tool of the Just in Time system. Based upon these principles, the software was elaborated using the ACCESS medium and it is worth to mention that it was already successfully applied to the bearings industrial plant from Barlad.
