By analyzing the failure of classical kinetic energy in continuum dynamics, a new concept, the mechanical operator of solid, is introduced, and the generalized kinetic energy theorem is presented, which not only maintain the classic position of kinetic energy theorem, but also extend it to continuum system successfully. Thus, a more effective method to establish wave equation of continuum, especially anisotropic continuum, is raised. The paper lays emphasis on the differential calculus of the mechanical operator on function. Finally, several concrete applications are given.
