摘要

This study explores the relationship between mobiletechnologies and economic and social development in fourcountries, two developed (USA and Kuwait) and twodeveloping countries (Ethiopia and India) using SWOT(strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis.Mobile technologies are a significant part of ICTinvestment around the world and they play an increasingrole in sectors such as education, agriculture, industry, andhealth sciences. This investment and development appliesnot only to the urban environment but also extends to ruralareas. This paper discusses the economic and social impactin those sectors and outlines the benefits. The analysis alsoconsiders the commitment of the government and industryin influencing “product and process” areas of mobiletechnologies and the innovative approaches carried out tomeet the needs of the market environment.
