摘要

This paper provides an in-depth study of the cocoa-chocolate supply chain in Cote d'lvoire, the world's largest producer of cocoa. This research is focused on the threats and opportunities within the supply chain, and how they are being addressed. A secondary purpose is to provide insight relevant to any commodity-based African supply chain. These chains present challenges not typically encountered in Western supply chains, especially poverty and lack of infrastructure, and require a high level of involvement on the part of stakeholders that depend upon the chain. This research draws on stakeholder interviews, primary and secondary sources, and direct observation.
