Systems pre-sizing involving severalrntechnical fields is generally based on a method wherernup-going validation phases follow down-going analysisrnphases. Meanwhile, the usual tools, when they exist, arernoften optimised to work in a single way.rnThe Constraint Satisfaction Solving Method (CSSM)rnintroduces a technique, which fulfil the needs ofrnpreliminary design, putting aside the notions of "input"rnand "output". Moreover, Constraint modelling is a wayrnto ensure the consistency between the differentrntechnical fields.rnA simplified example illustrates the problemrnon the Weapon Delivery and NavigationrnSystem of a military aircraft, underlining thernmany capabilities of the method.rnAs a conclusion a feedback on its introductionrnat Dassault Aviation's Systems Directorate isrnpresented and specifications for a ConstraintsrnModels Managing tool are introduced.
