Library and information science education programs in Korea cannot catch up the rapid changes in information profession. New perspectives on information world and the demands of the fields should be reflected in the curriculum development. Two-tiers system, undergraduate program for the entry level and graduate program for specialization will be a desirable solution. Roles of professional societies and associations should be strengthened to control the quality of information workers.
