摘要

Silica gels were made from tetraethoxysilane and triethoxysilane by the novel sol-gel process in which oligomeric cyclic siloxane preferably produced in the early stage of hydrolysis reaction were subjected to ring-opening polymerization catalyzed by NaOH. Their structure was examined by IR spectroscopy and X-ray radial distribution analysis method. It was found that the silica gels made by such a novel sol-gel process had the medium-range-structure very similar to silica glass. In other words, 6-fold siloxane ring structure unit was prevailing in the novel gels, while silica gels prepared via conventional sol-gel route were constructed with 4-fold siloxane rings.
