This paper describes the importance of Knowledge Management for organisations today. The concept of knowledge is presented and classifications are performed. Knowledge operations are presented from the perspective of Knowledge-Based Systems and Knowledge Management. An architecture for Knowledge Management is shown and described. Some projects that are being developed are briefly described in the paper.
