Studying the characteristics of the areas proposed to be landfill sites is very important as these sites represent the place in which the solid wastes can be buried safely. The environmental impact of these sites, on groundwater and population, makes such studies of very high importance. The aim of this paper is to analyze the parameters that control the choosing of such sites. The study includes four proposed sites, two belonging to Cairo governorate, the third in El-Beheira governorate and the fourth in Siwa oasis
