This paper presents our experience gained from developing an industry-university collaboration through conducting research projects based on the use of computer-aided construction technologies. A research project, which is to develop the VHBuild (a Web-based project management system, is analyzed as a case study from the viewpoint of collaborative efforts of university researchers and industrial practitioners. The case study reveals many issues and discussions related to the current growing interest in developing IT applications to the construction industry.
