摘要

Fire risk assessment is at the core of decision-making for most occupied buildings. For healthcare premises, a qualitative fire risk assessment method is used which is relatively easy and consistent to apply. However, the current method is not applicable to non-standard situations, business continuity and new designs and limits options for upgrade. There is a wide range of fire risk assessment methods available and the ideal method would combine the precision of quantitative fire risk assessment with the low time and cost implications of qualitative fire risk assessment. The paper concludes that just such a simplified quantitative fire risk assessment method has been developed. Example are given of the significant value to in can add to decision-making.
