RiskSpectrum PSA Professional (RSPSAP) provide for means to include NOT-logic in fault trees and to make use of NOT-logic in event trees. The purpose of implementing NOT-logic is to enable elimination of unwanted combinations of events in fault trees modeled explicitly, but also to take care of dependencies between failed and successful function events in event trees. By introducing a solution to the problem that is limited to handle situations commonly found in a PSA it is possible to use NOT-logic for this purpose. Non-conservative results may be generated if NOT-logic is used in fault trees such that success events cause failure. RSPSAP is intended to analyse failures, not just any type of event. Success events should never be the cause of failures. RSPSAP provide features for warning if success events cause failure.
