摘要

We have successfully fabricated the BSD on a quartz glass substrate. Emission current density form the BSD fabricated on quartz substrate reached 7.9 mA/cm~2 at 28 V and the efficiency of the emission was about 1.2 %. The mechanism of the emission from the structure is based on quasi-ballistic electron transport in the PPS layer. We have also successfully fabricated the 2.6 inches diagonal prototype full-colour flat panel display on a quartz glass substrate with the BSD technology. The emitting image showed about 0.2mm dot pitch without any focusing electrode at a 5 mm distance between the anode and the cathode. Consequently we can confirm that the BSD technology can be applied to a large area flat panel display.
