摘要

The purpose of this research is to develop a seismic design procedure for determining the lateral earth pressures on flexible cantilever retaining structures. Non-linear numerical analyses are being conducted using the computer program FLAC (Fast Lagrangian Analysis of Continua) to evaluate the effect of soil-structure system flexibility on the magnitude and distribution of lateral earth pressures for global and internal stability. The methodology of the research and some of the preliminary results are presented.
