The positive impact of the supply chain management (SCM) on a company's performance has been reported from many industries due to the comprehensive and systematic characteristics. Researchers and practitioners have investigated the various processes within supply chain management individually. However, with the continuous development of the network technology and the popularization of E-commerce, compared with the traditional management mode, the running and management mode in modern enterprise has been transformed remarkably. Recently, therefore, there has been increasing attention placed on SCM based on E-commerce. E-commerce has a profound influence on the way in which organizations efficiently manage their supply chains. Proponents of the E-commerce concept suggest that web-based trading systems would enable companies to more efficiently produce, buy, sell, and manage their supply chain processes on a global scale. And at the same time, the consumers can benefit a lot from it. Consequently, from the viewpoint of systems engineering, the author analyzes and studies the remarkable impacts of SCM resulting from E-commerce. Furthermore, three development stages of integration of SCM and E-commerce are presented and discussed. The Result also indicates that full participation in E-commerce demands enterprises to integrate their internal and external supply chain activities and share information.
