Microwave radar has a performance advantage in long range applications, applications with vaporous conditions that alter the speed of sound, and in many process applications with high temperatures and/or pressure. Typical applications in the water and waste water industries that meet these descriptions are chemical silos taller than 30ft and anaerobic digesters.rnUltrasonics offers a performance advantage in low dielectric materials (dielectric value less than 1.5) and in short range open channel flow applications. Low dielectrics are rare for water and waste water, but open channel flow applications are numerous.
