A theoretical tudy of the factors limiting the critical currents of magnets assembled of pancake coils made of Bi(2223)Ag tapes with an anistropy in the I_c(B) characteristic was performed. the angular dependencies of the I_c(b) characteristic of the multifilamentary Bi(2223)Ag tape (Vacuumschmelze GmbH production) measured at 4.2, 65 and 77 K were utilised for the calculation of the critical currents, central magnetic field and stored energy of the set of model magnets with respect to the number of pancake coils forming the magnet winding.
