摘要

A gravity blender with a novel structure of downcomer was experimentally studied in this work. The normal and lateral stresses across the silo were measured and a modified Janssen 's equation was proposed to calculate the stress across the silo with downcomers inside. The flow characteristic of solid through the downcomer with branch pipes and the influence of the number of intake openings on blending efficiency have been investigated. The results of solid tracing experiment show that better blending quality can be obtained if the intake openings in the blending silo are axially distributed according to the equal time principle.
