In order to investigate the power transmission over the contact area between two structures, the method of area mobility is often used. For the calculations of area mobility over a two-dimensional excitation area, the patterns of the excitations must be considered. In this paper, a method for calculating the area mobility of a finite plate subject to a uniform velocity excitation is derived analytically by using the bending wave equation and the concept of effective point mobility. This method provides an easy and convenient way to estimate the area mobility theoretically and to analyse the power transmission through the contact area. The analytical calculation method derived is applied for different parameters and a convergent result is obtained.
