Effect of novel ferrocene-carborane conjugates on Staphylococcus aureus biofilm formation through targeting extracellular matrix proteins
The presence of FcSBs can contribute to reduce pathogens adhesion to active biological surfaces and prevent its biofilm formation by means of binding to the EMPs and reducing the protein expression of EMPs. These results provide clues for use of the ferrocene-carborane conjugates in developing novel antibacterial agents to combat the MDR biofilm infections.
