In order to improve the delight of life and the efficiency of nursing care for the elderly or disabled persons in a wheelchair, a method of automatic tracking caregiver was proposed in this paper. The video sequence image acquired by the visual sensers installed in a wheelchair is taken as the research object. Firstly, a fast motion estimation and compensation algorithm based on brisk operator is proposed, which turns a video sequence of the dynamic background into the static background. Then, Mean Shift object tracking algorithm is proposed to realize that intelligent wheelchair tracks caregiver. Finally, the simulation of the proposed method in this paper is carried out. The simulation results show that the method is feasible, and has the advantages of small calculation, good real-time performance and so on.
