Space missions have tough requirements concerning the performance of the launch vehicle that carries the spacecraft into orbit. If they are not met. mission success is endangered and the work of many years may be in vain, not mentioning financial losses. The Rockot launch vehicle is capable of carrying a payload of up to 2 tons into Low Earth Orbits. In this market segment the expected changes such as the growing demand for launching constellations of small satellites or combinations of multiple spacecraft call for bespoke solutions of a highly innovative character. In the paper Eurockot will describe its capability to serve the needs of its customers beyond the scope of standard missions. This is based on the heritage of a number of one-off missions calling for individual solutions which Eurockot has demonstrated in recent years with a number of launches. Eurockot has contributed to the market development by offering a multiple launch capability using mission specific and therefore customized payload adapter and separation systems and mission profiles featuring several re-ignitions of the Breeze upper stage for orbit changes or phasing manoeuvres. This capability was demonstrated in the latest launch Eurockot performed in November 2013 when the 3 Swarm satellites of the European Space Agency were successfully orbited with high precision. Alternative constellation launch scenarios as well as those for combined launches of primary and secondary payloads will also be presented. In the paper, Eurockot will thus show its contribution to the use of small satellites for both scientific and commercial Earth observation by way of customized and proven launch capabilities offered at attractive terms.
