In the age of technical and cut throat competitiveness, traditional mentoring system does not suffice the requisites of an engineering graduate. Thus, a new strategical mentoring process has been discussed which not only provides expertise in disciplinary field but also inculcates in students cognitive and lifelong learning skills. Various types of mentoring have been characterized which includes precisely the set of rubrics to be followed for mentoring a student during the course of graduation.
