British and American Literature is one of the keycourses for English major students in China. Nevertheless, this course has been confronted with serious challenges in recent years.To solve the existing problems in teaching, nowadays, in the elearning environment, teachers of this course should make good use of modern devices including computer and internet.Based on constructivism, readerresponse theory and multiple intelligences theory, this paper aims to propose some suggestions for the improvement of British and American Literature teaching and learning.Such methods include multimedia teaching, students' presentation, roleplay and interactive internet teaching.It is expected to eventually stimulate students' learning interest and cultivate their competence in literary appreciation.
